On the afternoon of 18th December 2020, Flexcity delivered power in the new aFRR market for the first time.
Flexcity is thus positioned as the first new entrant to deliver energy to the network through this innovative service.
For about 30 minutes, there was a surplus of electricity on the Elia grid due to more renewable energy on the electricity grid. In response FLEXCITY has automatically adjusted the electricity production of its partners (aFRR Down service).
Flexcity is therefore entering the aFRR market alongside new partners and takes an important steps in facilitating more renewable energy on the electricity grid.
